Stunning First Nations artworks installed

The Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) Arts in Health Strategy has achieved an exciting milestone with the installation of the First Nations artworks in the new building’s foyer.

Led by First Nations creative team ZakPage and codesigned with the local Aboriginal community, the commissions include a major digital artwork display and a suspended sculpture.

The sculpture is a companion to the digital work, both called ‘Burbangana’, Dharag word meaning ‘take hold of my hand and help me up’.

Both pieces are a celebration of Country, foster a culturally safe environment and a warm welcome (especially to First Nations families) and create a sense of wellbeing for staff, patients and visitors.

The redevelopment’s innovative Arts in Health Strategy reflects the cultural diversity of the community, focusing on First Nations and multicultural community engagement and inclusion.
