A diverse and dynamic community
From the 2016 Census ‘Population and Housing’ for the Liverpool Local Government Area (LGA):
- There is a very high diversity of nationalities, with the top five countries of birth being Australia (13.4%), England (11.3%), Italy (5.4%), India (5.2%) and Lebanon 4.8%
- 62.1% of residents had both parents born overseas, nearly double the national average
- The median age of people in the LGA is 33, four years younger than the New South Wales state median; with those aged under 20 representing 30% of the population, 4.6% less than the state median
- Those aged 65 and over are just 10.4% of the population, 4.4% less than the state median
To meet the health care needs of our highly diverse Liverpool and wider south western Sydney communities, the redevelopment will provide a wide range of upgraded health services, allowing the better servicing of future health needs.
