Our diverse community
South western Sydney is one of Australia's most culturally and linguistically diverse regions. Of the more 1 million people in the region:

  • 35 per cent were born in a non-English speaking country, and
  • 55 per cent speak a language other than English at home.

Members from the Vietnamese Women’s Association heard about the exciting project
August 2023: Members from the Vietnamese Women’s Association heard about the exciting project from
one of our valued hospital staff members Registered Nurse Binh Tran, who presented in Vietnamese.
Our aim
  • We are aiming to inform, engage and most of all inspire our multicultural communities in the transformation of Liverpool Hospital into a world-class health, research and education centre.
    • We are committed to working with the local community throughout the Liverpool Hospital redevelopment project. This includes informing our communities and stakeholders about LHAP's key features, progress and milestones, like the opening and lauching of new wards and services.
    • We have also worked with patients and their carers, clinical and non-clinical staff, community representatives, local council and non-government organisations - as well as our teaching and education partners, on how we deliver the new building and services.

The project team connects monthly with community groups across south western Sydney.
