Major redevelopment milestone of Liverpool Hospital
Major redevelopment milestone
Lendlease has been appointed as principal builder for the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, which will deliver enhanced health care for south western Sydney.
Now undertaking site preparation for the main works component of the redevelopment project, Lendlease joins multi-storey car park builders ADCO Constructions on delivery of the $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct.
The first stage of main works will see a range of access changes in place, impacting pedestrians and vehicles travelling to the hospital. Construction hoarding is currently being installed around the Elizabeth/Goulburn Street entry of the hospital. This is to enable site establishment in preparation for safe demolition of hospital buildings and future construction of new hospital buildings.
Liverpool Hospital General Manger, Karen McMenamin, said the project would support thousands of jobs both during construction and on completion, boosting the local economy. “The commencement of main works is a major milestone for the Liverpool community and I cannot wait to see the end result in 2026,” she said.
