Construction of the new four-storey tower, the centrepiece of the first stage of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct redevelopment, has made excellent progress this year. We have reached the highest point of construction, opened a new public green space, bid farewell to our tower crane Binyang, unveiled the new facade design and achieved permanent power to the new building. Liverpool Hospital Acting General Manager Scott McGrath said he was delighted sections of the building’s stunning façade were now visible. “The building is looking amazing. It has been a year of incredible activity and we are excited to see our new building taking shape,’’ he said. “We are looking forward to a great year in 2024 with the commissioning of the tower.’’
The LHAP project team has also completed a big year of community engagement, connecting with more than 20 community groups and multicultural organisations. As we wrap up a busy year, the LHAP team would like to thank Liverpool Hospital staff, community members and key stakeholders who have played a major role in the project’s collective success in 2023. The new year marks a new phase in the project as we begin our transition to commissioning. In the new year, we look forward to sharing some exciting details about our Community Open Day event and revealing the spectacular artworks planned for the new building. On behalf of the project team, we wish you a safe festive break and a happy new year!
